ABA Therapy Miami FL

What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is an evidence-based approach to the treatment of autism, ADHD, and other related disorders. It is the golden standard that can improve social, communication, and learning skills through reinforcement strategies. This approach focuses on changing behaviors by understanding what happens before and after the behavior. Progress is tracked and measured.

ABA Therapy is backed by decades of research and it has been shown to be effective in reducing the symptoms that interfere with daily functioning and quality of life. At the same time, teaches specific skills and improves maladaptive behaviors.

How does ABA Therapy Works?

ABA Therapy | ABA Therapy Miami FL involves several phases, each tailored to the need of each specific child. It is provided in many different locations including homes, schools, and in the community.

ABA therapy at MGM teaches skills that are useful in everyday life in the natural setting of the child. This approach is called Naturalistic Teaching. Naturalistic teaching in ABA gives children the ability to develop their language and social skills in any setting.

Positive reinforcement is one of the main strategies used in our therapy. When a behavior is followed by something that is valued, the child is more likely to repeat that behavior. Over time, this encourages positive behavior change.

What to do if your child is diagnosed with autism?

As a parent, having a child recently diagnosed with Autism or other related disorders can be life-changing. You are not alone in this journey, our professionals are here to support you and guide you throughout the process. Remember, a diagnosis does not change who your child is or what they can accomplish.

There is no cure for autism, but intensive therapy (ABA Therapy Miami FL) can help children learn a wide range of skills and ameliorate the symptoms of the condition. That is why early intervention is important. The sooner the child begins, the better.

After receiving a diagnosis from the pediatrician, neurologist, or psychiatrist, our process begins with a behavioral clinical assessment of the child to help develop an individualized treatment plan which includes the most appropriate behavior intervention goals, skills acquisitions, and level of care. The assessment process at MGM includes:

  • Client and/or parent interview
  • Assessment from multiple developmental domains such as communication, social and emotional, and adaptive skills.
  • Review of assessments results and clinical data of other professionals
